Hydre Éditions — named after the mythical Hydra, the seven-headed dragon whose heads grow back when cut off — is a multilingual publishing house founded in Luxembourg in 2012. We draw their logotype, defined four distinct collections and designed over forty books since their creation.
After eight years activity, Hydre wished to switch the initial paperbacks to a new collection of slightly larger books. The fonts – Amalia and Fedra, both from typothèque – stay identical inside but their usage has been reversed on the covers, where the more classical Amalia now reigns.
These covers are part of their latest Fik/ction collection, recognizable by the blue and khaki green colors used in equal quantities. The designs are inspired by the titles and the texts. Typography and shapes are serious and playful, like this young publisher committed to en emerging generation of authors.
